I remember seeing some load data and writeup before the forums switched over for the 95 Vmax and 8208 XBR. Now I can't find it! Thanks for your help in advance.

Hodgdon has some. I will have to look over the board for others stuff. . Your testing with it before looked good. Think about CFE too.

Thanks, The stuff i had from before was with a Liberty 6.5 Grendel barrel. Seating is way different then what I am getting with this new bhw LBC. I seated some at 2.250 and went out and shot my first groups a few weeks ago. Not bad...but this last time I went out,I was getiing some strange results that didn't set well. I wanted to look into the load that was on here that was getting some good results before I go further. Thanks for the help!

Well,I seen a decent group the first time I go out, then this last time I go out I'm getting a crazy flyer. But if i do a 4th shot..its right back there..At 250 yards I have 3 in roughly a 2" group but a crazy left 8" out flyer.Happened 3 times in a row. Dunno! Maybe the bbl is breaking in,haven't hit the 60 round mark yet.I have never seen this before. R.Johnson had some info on his success with the 95 VMAX..just wondering what he is seating them too. I will try to duplicate the load and give that a try. Ill go out again and really nail down every detail and report back.

Knowing Ritch it is most likely around 2.300. I am sure he will be along soon.

First outing: All rounds seated at 2.250 (about .015 off the lands) 30-31 Gr. of 8208 XBR 95 V-Max AA Headstamp Brass(Lapua) CCI 450
3 shot groups @100
30.0-Wild group-8" Flyer-2 shots about 1.5" apart 30.2-Wild again about the same group 30.5-Starting to tighten up roughly 3" group. 30.7-Inch-Losing the flyer 30.8-About the same-No flyer 31.0- Wild and crazy I would say a 10" or so flyer. Never seen or loaded for such a finicky barrel, now to work on the seating depth and see if I can get this 30.8 load looking good.

If it shoots it really shoots. I have changed to 123 gr Nosler's and CFE powder. The very worst my barrel has shot was 1.25 the best in the high .300's for 5 shots.

That's just it..I'm looking for a light flat shooting predator bullet. The 95 V-max fits the envelope. This barrel was intended for my predator setup.Actually should have been a .243 LBC, but had to send the barrel back after waiting 14 weeks and settle for another .264/Grendel Chamber Barrel. I will mess with seating, then go to CFE 223,then go to the Nosler 100 Bt's, then go to another barrel.. worst case.

Has the gun got some good groups in the past? Greg

Has the gun got some good groups in the past? Greg Nothing yet for groups.I have had this barrel for about 3 months and have finally got the time to mess with it.I did have a liberty barrel in 6.5 Grendel on this build, but loading for the 95's is way different with the .264 LBC.Had good success with the liberty barrel.Again this was supposed to be a .243 LBC but guess we will go from here. I will take a look at those 85's too..Another thing I have noticed with the 95 to a 123 gr load is the lesser amount of recoil and scope jump the lighter bullet has.I will typically lose the coyote in the scope with the heavier bullets. My 6X45 is a killer and lazer, but just not making me feel %110 hunting the big bad wolf. I loaded some some tonight at different seating depths using the same 30.8 of 8208. More to come..next time I will include some pics of the whole operation.

Check your seating depth again. I measured mine again and it is 2.291 OAL with a 95 gr Vmax. The 85 Sierra is 2.119 OAL This was measured with a Sinclair tool. Since I started using the Sinclair tuning has become a lot easier.

That's what I am running,it measures off the ogive of the bullet for better accuracy. Also can give you an exact number to the lands.2.291..hmm I will set some right to that. I'm using a tuned up RCBS chargemaster and all redding equipment. Also checking for runout to eliminate an discrepancies in the reload. Wish it wasn't that fussy,as the grendel is typically easy to reload..this has taken the most detail thus far in the 3 Grendel's I have owned. I will keep tinkering. And post pics as soon as i can catch a calm night. Thanks again for the ideas.
