While I am waiting for my 6X45mm barrel to come in I am trying to get my reloading dies together. Now I reload for .308 with a Redding Type S bushing die. And I have a range bushings I use depending on the brass and numbers of firings. I plan to mainly use once fired NATO 5.56 brass for my AR build. So I want to get the Redding's .223 Type S bushing die, and add a .22-.243 expander for sizing Redding has a range of bushing selections that run from .260"-.275" for .243/6mm. Depending on the cartridge. I checked some Hornady 100 grain .243 Win., and the outside neck diameter average was .2715". Does anyone have a real world range they can give me for this set up please.
Thank you. Glenn

Thank you. Glenn Don't know how real world my world is but I use a 258 on Winchester brass that gives me a loaded 261 neck. That equates to 0.002 neck tension. You could go to 257 if you wanted a bit more for your state of mind. I would not go less. With the military brass the 258 should be sufficient as it is just a tad thicker. I use a Sinclair Neck Turning expander mandrel that is 0.001 under bullet size to do my intial expanding Greg PS: Welcome to the board.

Thank you for the information. It is much appreciated. Glenn You are welcome. With that die I load 6X45, 223 and 20 Practical. It is a tad too big for the 17/223. Greg

Thank you. Good information to digest. I will have to look into the Lyman's M die.
