Newbie here I would like to build a 6x6.8 SBR 16" barrel to be exact. I want to run the 58 grain pills for yotes. Does any one have any data on a 16" 6x6.8? Velocities grouping barrel twist special load data needs for this short barrel etc . I plan on starting with the tactical ammunition ammo and then reloading that brass or brass from my Hornady 6.8 using the ch4d dies. thanks all

The short barrel has it's trade offs though, SPEED. My barrel shoots a 58 grain Vmax at 3300 FPS with 31.5 grains of 8208. That's from a 1 in 10 twist barrel. Accuracy is in the .50 range. I love the little gun, but my hearing pays the price for every dog I shoot with it.

I have a 18" 1/9 its a lot more friendly on your ears and shoots little bitty holes. It likes 55gr nbts as good as those 58gr vmax.

After a long break from this caliber, I am about to start loading for squirrel season. Has the 55 Nosler Varmageddon been tested? Nosler blems are in stock and cost considerably less. If they have proved accurate for others I will go ahead and purchase a thousand.

I haven't shot a 20" barrel in a couple of years. IIRC it ran 3450 FPS with a 58 grain Vmax

There's a picture on here. Greg
