A good rule of thumb is starting with 7.62X39 load data and move up. That's how we did on a large number of inital loadings Greg

So I measured my chamber with the seirra 125 gr prohunters. Im using my new Sinclair tool and get 2.280. Same as my split case method. I couldnt get a fire brass to push all the way in so I sized it first. It is once fired though. Why is my chamber reading higher than yalls? Its seems pretty straight foward I loaded a dummy round @2.275 and it chambers fine and oal stays put.

I have no idea how yours could be that long. That being said maybe they changed reamers between yours and ours and went a bit longer in the throat. If that's what it is then that's what it is. Go load some up and give us a range report.

I noticed on the Sinclair tool, one end has a smaller diameter. Is that for smaller calibers? Instructions are unclear on that

Im fixin to load some prohunters this evening and was wondering what kind of speeds you were able to achieve. The seirra book for the 7.62 x39 only goes up to 2300 fps. Im thinking these should hit over 2500 somwhere.

Im thinking these should hit over 2500 somwhere. Yes you are right they will go that fast. You guys need to get your toes wet. We have consistently posted that the area for a 125 will be in the 2500-2600 FPS range. As you start to shoot you will learn some of this on your own and grasp what wildcat means. All the 6.8 variants have been shot successfully by a myriad of shooters. We give everyone starting points and turn 'em loose. We haven't shot every bullet or every powder and never will. Hopefully following your experiences they will be shared here so we can all learn. Given the case capacity is larger you know going in you will be faster in 90% of loading situations. How much depends on how much you want to go for and are wiling to sacrifice along the lines of case life and parts breakage. Ninety nine percent of the 7.62X39 stuff will be safe from a reputable source. If you don't have a chronograph it's like an oil well...GET ONE!!! You are literally dead in the water without the right tools. Even with established printed SAAMI cartridges the use of a clock is valuable. You get lots of data every time you put five rounds down range. Greg

I can see how the 7.62x39 loads are safe. There way low for this new case. Those bullet has a max 26.3 gr of RL7. My loads might be quite different with the extra room in the my chamber. I should have this ironed out in a few day. Weather permitting lol. Raining a lot here in Texas.

You guys need to get your toes wet. Greg I tested a couple of rounds of 125 grain ProHunters this past weekend. I will be loading up some this week and heading to the range next weekend to test accuracy and speeds. HTXH
