Ok here is what I came up with using RL 7, new unfired SSA brass.CCI41 out of a 16" barrel. I have a little more room in my chamber so mine are loaded a bit longer (2.270). Some reading are a bit erroneous probably due to the wind blowing shadows all over the chrono. Im in the woods with lotz of leaves on the trees. So sun light is marginal sometimes. But you can get the idea. I posted the cases so you can see not until I got to 29.2 did I see anything related to pressure and even then its hard to see. I could go hotter but groups are opening up. ( missed the 28.2 row of brass some how.) Group size 1)28.0 >>>>>2364-2392-2364-2364>>>>>>>>>>>>>>1.267 this included a cold bore shot that hit higher than the rest. this is probably a decent group with out it. 2)28.2 >>>>>2367-2346-2304 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>1.051 3)28.4 >>>>>2400-2340-2319 very accurate>>>>>>>>.481 4)28.6 >>>>>2416-2390-2406>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>1.017 5)28.8 >>>>>2410-2423-2420>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.740 Need to shoot 28.9 there might be a really small group here 6)29.0 >>>>>2461-2453-2472>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.744 Go to load 7)29.2 >>>>>2455-2470-2474>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.913 8)29.4 >>>>>2519-2526-2477 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>1.402

Great Information! Thank you for posting your results.
If I may ask, how far off the lands did you seat the bullets with the new SSA brass?

I measure 2.280 with new sized brass and once fired sized brass. So I am .010 off the lands for either(coal 2.270). If your dies are set right the shoulder should be in the same place and only needing some nice shaping. I cant tell any difference in groups useing either. So I would say its safe to mix once fired and new without any impact on accuracy.

As soon as I get my barrel, I'll get you that data for the 130's. I'm hoping I get it within the next three weeks. It's all I can shoot here in the condor zone in Commiefornia.

I'm not sure what options you ordered but I think I ordered about 2 weeks before you and specified fluting and blackening. I talked with Jason at BHW and I am about 4 weeks out as of 3 days ago. guessing if you had neither option you should be a little closer.

18", target crowned, black peened finish. I guess I'm just being a little anxious.

...I guess I'm just being a little anxious. I'm right there with you brother! I have 3 BHW barrels on order and can't decide which I'm more excited about!

That's gotta be killing you!!! I have everything, bullets, brass, dies, powder, complete 6.8 bcg, upper, all of it.....even had custom tapered expander/decappers made for my RCBS dies......but I NEED THAT BARREL!!!!
btw...great load development. I don't see very much in the way of pressure signs on that SSA brass. Mine will be factory fresh Hornady small primer.

I can get that speed with RL7, but the accuracy opens up. My barrel seems to like 2470 fps with the 125's. Both accubond and prohunters sweet spot is at this speed. My Sst's will be here this week. I bet they shoot the same.

Liking those results. I REALLY wish I could just use those leaded bullets here in lead-free Commiefornia. I've settled on the Barnes TSX 130 grain with RL7. I was looking at the TTSX in the same weight, but the TSX and the TTSX are completely different bullets....construction-wise.....besides the obvious. The TSX makes the 130 weight in front of the rings while the TTSX makes weight in the boattail. I know this is because of the tipped vs untipped construction, but this allows for the ogive to be a little more forward and a little more case capacity. The TSX is also a little shorter. They have to make up for that long tip of the TTSX somehow. I know........I can only know for sure when I have a chamber to measure. Just waiting for the barrel!! March 4th seems SO long ago!!!
Question for you: Do you think the 130 will do well with H335 as well? I have a good supply of that as well. Thanks

I don't shoot much of it because of temperature but I have a can of it on the shelf. I'll usually shoot a few bullets with it inmost new cartridges just so I have a general idea on how it does. Pursuing it as a final powder is usually not in my mind set. Greg
