Last year I killed two whitetails with my 6.8spc and it did a good job. I used 100 grain Nosler Accubond, I'm really pleased with this round for my 6.8spc. However after a text from my youngest son that he had a 300lb black bear at his stand and it was getting dark I was wishing for more fire power. The walk into the stand started me thinking 308. So the build started just after Christmas. I have a 308 barrel ordered and wondering what might be the bullet for that caliber. I'm thinking a 165 grain Accubond would be a good round.
But those of you that hunt with the 308 or other calibers what is your favorite bullet and why?
Here's a picture of my friend that lives around my deer stand. Bear season wasn't in when my son had a visit with him last year. Not a bad bear for South Ga.
