A while back I posted (where, exactly, I don't know - I can't find it) that 7 shots was the minimum meaningful number of shots in a group to make any conclusions about a rifle's precision. I was "taken to the woodshed", stating I was wasting time, money, and barrel life. Well the target below shows two things: The accuracy of PPU 120gr Grendel (264 LBC in this case, no pun intended), and how a three shot group, five shot group, seven shot group, and ten shot group will give you differing perspective on "accuracy". Three shots went into .7MOA Five shots opened it to .8 MOA Seven shots opened it to .9 MOA Ten shots opened it to 1.8 MOA For a hunting rifle, this is OUTSTANDING, and it's what the rifle was built to do ("Slim" profile, 7lbs with Leupold FX-II 4X), but there is no way I could say this is a "MOA Rifle" without saying "until the barrel gets hot". Draw your own conclusions, flame away as you feel inclined. Picture is from my crappy cell phone - that SHOULD be flamed! I found the original thread in "general shooting". I don't know how I missed it, or how the "search" didn't find it.

I just go to a profile and click on recent posts. It would bring up the one you referenced. BTW the PPU stuff is getting really slammed for pressure inconsistency with some outright case failures blamed on it. I wonder how it would have been with the AMAX Hornady loads. I suspect a different picture. Greg
