5.56 16" BHW barrel 1:8 twist. Optimal bullet weight?

What grain bullets are y'all getting the most consistency / accuracy with do far I'm mostly plinking with just 55 grain. But for 100 to 200 yards is the 62 grain or 70 to 75 grain the best? Thanks.

For plinking i would use a good quality 55 grainer. That will shoot well out to 200 and may well be the only bullet you will ever need/want. If I wanted to step up in potential accuracy then by all means shoot the 69's and the 75-77 grain bullets.

I've been getting good results with 69gr and 77gr using my BHW 20" 1:8 twist.

i shoot the Nosler 77 cc's and imr 4064 out of my 8tw  and get really good results. it's not a BHW barrel but i don't think that would make a difference. they work well in the 8 tw barrel. i ran out of that powder and will try vv140 next out of curiosity. good shooting and enjoy.

That is very encouraging; I have a 1:8 20" 5.56 on order... I use the 77grOTm from SilverState Armory...

I hear a lot of people say for 1in8 you can't beat the 69grain Sierra match king.I will find out soon and let you know what I find out.

mine is not an BHW barrel but with the 8tw it likes the nosler 77gr cc's with imr 4064  powder alot!

That and the black hills MK262 are the loads my 18" 1/8 seems to prefer. However it shoots most loads with in a MOA except the 69GRN stuff, it likes the Wolf gold for plinking stuff.
