I'm planning to replace a barrel on a Remington 700, I'm curious about throat dimensions on the BHW 308B, anyone have any measurements of max Oal to lands with 125, 150, or 165 Nosler Ballistic Tips?

That ones beyond my experience. It will be almost impossible to get a hard number because it will be set by the guy screwing on the barrel. Conceivably I could see 0.010 difference from rifle to rifle with the same chamber cut. Ritch and I both have the same Savage 243LC but he runs his chamber about 0.004 different than mine so we are of at least that in distance to lands. Additionally the numbers will change as more rounds go down the tube. That's the one nice thing about those bolts guns you do have room to play. All that being said I'm looking forward to what the guys come up with. Greg |
