Does anyone have any experience running a suppresser on an 18" barrel with a rifle length gas system? Or any knowledge of how well it would run...how reliable it would be? Or a 20"?

It would make for a very long rifle. The longest barrel I personally put a can on was a 14.5". I would recommend that if you go with a 18" barrel use a mid length gas system with it. Anything 20" and above rifle length gas system would work best.

yes it would make for a very long rifle, but if using is surpressed it will ether be on bench or in prone so it really won't matter the length...lest not to me. If I get an 18" that's rifle length it will be the BHW SPR barrel and only that one other wise it will be a 20" or mid gas system. I say I would use that barrel because it is supposed to have a larger port that makes it run more reliable and even smother from what I have researched. Not sure how true this is. If have knowledge of this or experience with this barrel please chin in

The spr contour is setup for use with a ops Inc. Suppressor. This sytle actually slides over the barrel and would actually reduce the length compared to some other QD suppressors on the market. It also gives the suppressor two points of contact rather than one. This helps with alignment to the muzzle

I actually got my suppressor in the other day and did some function testing. I have an SLR adjustable gas block, on an 18" BHW 1:8 standard profile barrel, rifle length gas. I have my block tuned to run bulk 55 grain remanufactured ammo(specifically this stuff www.surplusammo.com/223-55-grain-fmj-saa-500-rounds-factory-remanufactured-bulk/ ) just above the no cycle point(haven't had any reliability issues yet). So it also functions flawless with any other factory 223 and 556. I have a Silencerco Omega. I fitted the barrel with the Trifecta brake, and the suppressor with the quick mount, along with the 556 front cap(it is a semi modular 762 can). I do also have a Vltor A5 buffer system. I shot some American Eagle .223 50gr HP varmint, American Eagle AR 556 XM193, Blackhills 77gr OTM 556, Blackhills 69gr OTM 556, and some of the previously mentioned 55gr bulk ammo. All functioned properly with no adjustment to my gas block, gun was dirty with a few drops of fresh oil in key spots, temp outside was 17 degrees F(gun was outside for about 15 minutes while I loaded my mags). My ejection pattern with the suppressor off is about 4-430. With the suppressor mounted, my ejection pattern changed to 3-330. So no major over-gassing(possibly due to the 762 can). All casings came out with minor, if any, dings from the deflector. It does make the rifle pretty long, which wouldn't be bad at a bench or prone(I did off hand for my testing).
