I current;y have a 6.5x55 swede setup on a savage action. It is a sweet shooting rifle, but I was wondering is that case could be necked down to a 6mm. I know of a guy that has necked the case down to a .224 with just outrageous velocities. If I remember correctly it was around 3600 FPS+.

Yes you could do that but BHW isn't taking any wildcat customer cartridges at this time. It would be a fun project but at the end of the day you would be as well served with a 243 Winchester. Not as much of a cool factor but a virtual equivalent without the $400.00 investment in reamers and HS gauges. BTW the 22X6.8 and the 22 LBC runs those 22 caliber pills to 3600 using a 50 grain bullet. The 243 LBC might even meet your needs if ultimate speed is not the goal. Greg
