My wait for that barrel was a "no op" for me. The project has been on the burner for a while. Life for me has come to where I have time now. The 'yotes are doggin' here and this rifle won't be ready this year. ETA: Yup..those green tips aren't for this rifle, I just needed some props for the picture. LOL.

Looks good so far. 6x45mm is a great cartridge. I have two BHW 6x45mm barreled rifles and both will shoot sub-MOA. What length barrel did you get?
Thanks for sharing, Glenn

Thanks, Glenn.
18", 1:10 mid gas on the barrel. Waiting on a 15" FF guard(O.D.), adjustable micro gas block and tube from BTE. I run it out(the guard) long as I perceived my need. If I don't like it, I've something else the guard will work on.
Stupid question, perhaps, for anybody to answer. Do I need anything of the standard barrel nut config? The BTE guard comes with its own barrel nut. The spring and such are of mil-spec guard; I suspect there's nothing I need of it for the BTE guard.
Anyhow, there's an ALG ACT trigger group. If it breaks smooth at 4.5-5.5, I'll be happy. I don't need one that will go off when I fart(could be dangerous; ha, ha). I gotta get my "big glove" trigger guard on it yet, also.

Received my 6mm-223 die set this week. Run some clean brass and set the seater die at 2.320 to start. My first set of Hornady dies and I have to admit I like them. Have some BL-C2 that I can get started with. Anybody run RL-15 with success? Think I might have seen a post about it but don't remember any recipes(for starters). Didn't see it on the big spreadsheet for SMK 85's. Looks like a Christmas haul, don't it! Feels like it, too. Still waiting on tube to finish it up.

You might want to check distance to lands before you load up to many.

You might want to check distance to lands before you load up to many. Greg Yup. That's why I gauged the die where I did with that one inert case. No loaded or primered cases yet. The suspense is killin' me, though. Like I said, "Christmas". I've got 100 sized cases now. Just waiting to get the barrel on. I've been waiting on BTE for near 2 weeks, now. I'll hold that thought until the tube comes. I have been in contact with them since my order...and...well, we'll see. I don't want to post crap that isn't deserved, due to my misconception. If it's a production issue, so be it. Quality will bear it out. In the meantime, I'll be load hunting. Best, CP

ETA: Any insight(anybody?) on the RL-15...it's the one thing I have plefty of at the moment. I worked up to 27.0 of RL15 in the 6X45. 87 grain Hornady BT 2950 in a 24". 71/2 primer. That is the only RL15 I used. It would not be good for light bullets. Greg

My parts from BTE came while I was in TX last week. Now she's ready for glass and figuring out a load...the fun part.

That turned out to be a good looking rifle. Have you decided what "glass" and mount your going to use?
Thanks for posting, Glenn
