Okay so my local range goes out to 1250 yrds. They host a monthly match for members. The match consist of shooting various distances out to 1250 max. The event is timed and start with cold bore. No practice shots the day of. My question is would I benefit from an ad setup in 243 LBC or would a 6x47 bolt action be better? Being able to engage the next target without functioning a bolt would be faster and equal more pojnts.

If I built a gun for that I'd be a 243 Win. bolt. 1250 is stretching it if you are talking 6X46 ala 222 Magnum necked up to 6. The LBC would be on it's operational edge at that range. I would run a 6X20 mildot scope. A Harris swivel bipod would be hanging off the front. Greg

I was thinking of the 6.5x47 Lapua necked down to 6mm. In a bolt action with a chassis system to use the AI mags
