Has anyone tried any of the copper solid bullets on the market such as the Pure Precision or G9 Bullets products? The lure of potentially higher velocities from the lighter bullets plus slightly higher BC's has me intrigued. If they shoot faster, flatter and at least as accurate as their lead counterparts in the poly barrels then I might be able to stomach the cost. If the performance increase is only marginal or they don't get along with polygonal rifling then I'll probably standardize on the 95gr SMK as my long range load.

Some of the guys have shot them quite well. To me the use would be narrowly limited to hunting as while you do get a theoretic higher velocity don't overlook the fact you are using up case volume with the longer bullets for the weight. The SMK's and the Nosler CC's shoot as well as most of us can shoot. There are a couple guys around here that can shoot I hear.I would seriously doubt that more $$'s will equate to much of a quantifiable increase in performance. Greg

That sounds like a fair summary. I just remembered I like building and shooting AR's because their fun and relatively inexpensive, paying for copper solids to gain a small theoretical ballistic advantage might kill both of those aspects pretty quickly.
