Hey guys, I have a friend interested in buying a 243 lbc upper with a BHW barrel. The upper doesn't include a bolt or carrier group. Is there a way to determine if the chamber is type 1 or Type 2? I believe it's a 1:8 twist 22" barrel. I am assuming type 1 per another thread on here but would be good to know before he buys it. The guy who owns it now says he doesn't know... Thanks for the help.

All LBC's are TYPE 1 unless it is a special order. If it were a II it would be marked on the barrel. The 243LBC is one that has rarely been different.

Thanks Greg. I will have him check the barrel to make sure.

So reading this I may have made a bad purchase. I purchased an Odin Works 6.5 Grendel bolt carrier group found here: www.odinworks.com/6_5_Grendel_BCG_p/acc-6.5-bcg.htmWill this not work with a BHW 243 LBC barrel? I am still mid-build on this rifle so now is the time to catch any issues.

Using a .136 deep bolt also know as a type 2 or Grendel bolt will result in excessive head space.
