I want to build a 24" upper for DMM and PRS Gas Gun Only matches and hate the big frame AR. I'm looking for some guidance on a couple of things: 1. Does BHW do +2" gas or is rifle path as long as they go? I know it's not an option on the website but they do custom contour work so moving the journal forward shouldn't be an issue. 2. Do you recommend an M16 style carrier? 3. What buffer would you use? Thanks, Keith I am unaware of them doing the 2+ gas ports. At least they have never offered to do one for me. Based on the barrel turning set up they use I would tend to say a pretty strong no on that one. Yes the M16 carrier is the ticket IMHO for the extra weight. I use standard weight buffers. NONE of my guns run anything other than a rifle or standard carbine style as apropos. I personally believe that trying to adjust those weights is not good across the board. Adjusting the gas is more direct and more versatile. I run standard lowers with everything shot on them from 17-223 to 458 SOCOM. I refuse to play the game of having to match the lower to the upper chambering per se. My carbine lowers are also used without alteration from upper to upper. Greg Greg
