Gas tube woes?

Building a dpms style 308 bought one AR10 308 "one only 24" semi bull double dimple " from BHW. 1/20/15 but am just now getting around to building my first ar 308   Ive done 4 ar15's...3- with 80%lowers.(they work great!  machined by me) and one with a stripped complete lower.

So, got what said it was a rifle length gas tube at 15.25 "   but its about  what seems to be 2" to short see pic below:

Searched eveywhere I can think of but only can find a 15.5" gas tube.   

Is this common and I'm brain farting?    or is this one off barrel truly "one off"   then I need a custom length tube?   

NOtice also the bend in the tube in my pic is wayyyy forward of the barrel taper.

upon further searching Finally found this:

Yes there is about 0.25 inches between a DPMS and an ARMALITE gas port length. Once again another non-standard, since there are none, issue in fitment across the board with the big frame platform. Order up 17" tube. You have a National Match gas system..

Yes I was aware of the .25 difference in rifle length tubes but until now not aware of the 2" diff. in the BHW barrel I bought...It was a custom one off that I got at what I will deem a ridiculous low price thanks to a shot show discount from visiting their booth last year 2015.

I got hooked up with the people at WOA and they stock the 17" tubes...as well as do tubes for custom lengths for anyone else who may have stumbled on this subject blindly as I did.

Now I just need my handguard/rail (custom built laser cut) to get here so I can get this baby up and running.   

C'mon 3 week turnaround!  Heres a incomplete teaser reveal pic....Lower will most likely be blue titanium cote with the color sceme it should look like robo-cop.      Perhaps I can engrave his tag line...."Dead or alive...Youre coming with me." somehwere...LOL

They have done very few of those gas lengths. About the only guys running them are the DCM shooters. I suspect that the gas distance will be a bit picky on the loads thanks to the pressure drop.
