It appears Nosler has come out with a 6.8 based .224 caliber, could it be the same as a 22x6.8?

They rebated the rim to .373 the same as the 5.56. Their speeds are on the low side, within 100 FPS of the 223. Not really sure what their intent was, but they have a big case that's to long to shoot mag length bullets with a high B.C. It's kind of like trying to feed a big block racing motor with a 2 barrel carb. All show and no go.

I could not find anything definite, on what the exact specs were length wise. So a rebated rim 6.8 type case?

It reminds me of work Ruger has done as of late, .204 Ruger based on the 222Mag instead of the 20 Practical based on 223/5.56, and the 6.5 Creedmore when the .260 Rem already existed, at least they could have standardized the ..260 AI and the shoulder they wanted and more performance instead of less than the .260. This has the info if you go to the various areas. www.nosler.com/blog/news-and-articles/2017/1/15/nosler-delivers-faster-cartridge-for-the-ar-15the-22-noslerIt is based on the 30 Remington most recently seen in the 6 MM HAGAR. They shorten the case length over the HAGAR slightly. SAAMI'd at 2.260 really robs you of case capacity but knowing AR reamers that won't be a problem. Seat then out and it will help after checking the distance to lands. The rebated rim is interesting but may be problematic a bit if you load hot. Speed wise they aren't showing anything that is faster than the 6.8 I've been shooting for a few years. I'll be longing at this one hard but what numbers I have seen aren't going to tip the scales much. They are barely outrunning a 22 Service Rifle load. Greg

Answers to questions that were never asked. The creedmore is purpose built to run long heavy for caliber high BC bullets. The 260 case isn't optimized to work with the long heavys in a short action and rifles aren't throated or twisted fast enough for the bullets. They'd need to start selling long action 8 twisted 260's, but then your into 264 area. The creedmore is one of the good ones.

That's an option as well as a Remage barrel conversion.

Any word on when BHW is going to start cutting 22 Nosler barrels? Rumors but it is going to take some customer demand to tip the scale. I am watching to see howteh public takes to it. I know it looks great but it is no barn burner as we are already at those seeds and beyond with more versatility at magazine length. Greg
