I am trying to research barrel options for a new Savage SA rifle project, however, the BHW/CRA website does not currently have any information on them. Does anyone have information on the bolt action barrel options? I am interested in knowing caliber and barrel profile options.

They have barrels fitting Savage, Mossberg, Remington and Rugers. Chamberings are basically everything from 17-223 including all the AR chamberings up to 358 Winchester. NO AI chamberings. They pretty much generate the standard profiles of those companies plus you can request changes like a longer straight section by the chamber or a straight taper along with several fluting options and shapes like twisty flute and octagon.
Lengths out to 26" available.
With no pictures available I would just go to the top of the CRA screen click on BLACK HOLE WEAPONRY and then BOLT ACTION BARRELS and fill out the form. A phone call might expedite things a bit also.

For pictures: Here's my Winchester M70 push feed in 7mag 24" untapered 10-twist: Here's my Mossberg MVP in .223 (front) 26" 7twist untapered. Barrels are great. I haven't had one that I didn't make sub-moa with. Installation is a snap but does require some special, if inexpensive, tools. Besides basically anything you'd normally be able to get in an AR platform they've got your standard .308 and .243 and 7mm-08 and 7remmag and IIRC .260rem and .264LBC. I recall seeing some nifty 6.8spc based 22 and 6mm offerings as well and 6x45.

I had a good talk with somebody at the shop and they might happen to have a certain reamer. According to what he told me he has all kinds of wild cats so maybe just a quick phone call and ask for the techs in the shop. He even told me they currently don't make barrels for tikkas but if I wanted to I could send them the barrel and they could make it for me. It would be setup like a savage with a barrel nut. I have an ad barrel which shoots great. I am waiting on a bolt action barrel in 22-243. Hope it shots like all there other stuff.

Thanks for the replies. I have a Savage 10 in 308 that I'm planning to put into a Cadex chassis, so whatever I end up using will have to fit in AI short action mags. The current plan is to upgrade the barrel to something better suited for long range precision work. Most likely it will end up being a 7mm-08 or 6.5 Creed, considering ammo cost and availability of reloading components, but I am also thinking about other options, like the 7mm WSM, to try and squeeze maximum long range performance from the short action.

I have about 1200 rounds on my 6 creed barrel BHW did for me. Shoots amazingly well. I have come back to order another but the new site is not being very user friendly. I thought they were doing ready to ship barrels at one point?? Maybe not anymore. I am looking forward to my next black hole barrel though, it'll be going on my bighorn tl3!!

They were/are doing some ready to ship barrels but that did not include many bolt gun set ups. Way to many profiles and chamberings to tie up in stock on the shelf. Give them a call or fill out the form on the web page as noted above and they will fix you up. I would just call as you can get it done in less than five minutes. Greg

So, I looked at the BA barrel order webform and it shows barrel profile options from BHW1 through BHW6. Does anyone have definitive information on what the profiles actually are, and perhaps a picture? I'm guessing that the BHW1 is the lightest and BHW6 is the heaviest, but it would be nice not to have to guess.
