Hi all, What can I expect from a 20" barrel for velocity? Say with 39gr sbk? And what powder? Thanks

Thanks Never shot a 20" in the PRAC but for some SWAG work from my 24": AA 2460 3600-3650 AA 2200 " AA 2230 " H335 3650-3725 RL 10 3700-3750 X-TERM 3600-3650 TAC 3625-2675 Start with 20 TACTICAL data and move up a small amount. You will be in the sweet spot. Beware of data from Todd Kindler/The Woodchuck Den. Ritch has some that are quite a bit faster per actual chronograph work. Greg

Hi all, What can I expect from a 20" barrel for velocity? Say with 39gr sbk? And what powder? Thanks Desertdog, I noticed this is an older post, but if you’re interested I’ll post what I gathered. I’ve had the pleasure of running tests with both a 20” and 24” barrel in the 20 P. So in addition to what GLSHOOTER said: 20” Benchmark-3645 fps (this is a hot load, I was getting pressure signs of all forms). Ymmv 24” Benchmark-3900 fps (this also was a hot load with all accompanying signs to indicate I hit the max). Ymmv I only ran tests with Benchmark. Also, I don’t run mine at these speeds, I just like to see what the ceiling is when I’m working up my loads. Hope this helps. Chris
