I need a light crimp on my 6x6.8 which Lee crimp die should I buy? 6mm 243. If I understand the LEE is cartridge specific so neither if that is correct. If you must crimp buy the Hornady seater for 6 PPC they are generic and one size fits all. That will give you a superior seater if you add the micrometer top and you can crimp with it. Ritch and I never crimp the 6X6.8 and have seen no reason to do so. About all I crimp are my 556 rounds going into my machine guns and my big boomers that are heavy recoil. The small bore stuff of 308 or less is not. Greg

Thanks Greg! No matter what I try my neck tension seems light on 3-4 times fired SSA brass! Ive had some seat deeper from recoil.

You need to order a smaller expander ball. Dave will be glad to help you. That's how you fix that issue. I would start at 0.001 and MAYBE go 0.002 but that might be excessive Greg

Maybe I should amend my backorder to include the smaller ball(s). I have the CH4D die for .25x6.8; do you think this may be a concern there as well? (I'm still waiting on a handguard to complete that rifle before I start loading)

(I'm still waiting on a handguard to complete that rifle before I start loading) I have both. Whatever they use normally is fine. I can't remember what it is but mine have turned out good loadings. BTW Ritch has some Hornady 6X6.8 dies on a custom order that should be around in about 12 weeks. We KNOW these will show up!! A bit more expensive than the CH4D but they come with that good Hornady seater that we prefer. You might drop him a line. Greg

Thanks for the heads-up. I've already taken your advise from another thread and purchased Hornady caliber-specific seater dies with MicroJust stems. I was quoted at ~2 months wait still from CH4D; supposedly the 6x6.8 FL sizer's are currently "in heat treating". Guessing I'm not going to get much use out of this build this year before the snow hits unless I break down and buy a bushing die.

One 6.8 die and bushings lets you load 6.8, 6.5, 25, 6MM, 22 and 20. One die to load them all one die to rule them all. Six bushings toatal and if you buy a 264 LBC you can load the counterparts to the 6.8. The more the merrier in the cartridge world. Greg PS: Those puppies have been in heat treating a LONG TIME!!
