I have had my 18" 1/8 twist barrel for about 5 months. Everything working fine. However, I noticed that my shells are throwing around 1:30 or 2:00. The BCG is Lantec. I was running an H buffer and switched to an H2 by Spikes. I shoot 15 to 20 rounds a week. I see no wear on the BCG lugs or the barrel lugs. Is this something that I need to be concerned with? Should go with an adjustable gas block or a heavier spring? I will never abuse this gun , but would like it run as it was designed. I am working on another build, will use another BHW 18" and would like to get ahead start on this.

Reliability is the key on sales and that gives a bit of cushion to the manufacturer. You are getting that and it won't hurt you at all. Every issued duty gun I've had was over gassed and we ran them hard with no issues. I run adjustables on most of mine simply because I handload 95% of what I shot and many loads are far from "normal" and it allows me to use non-standard, as in commercial loading, powders and bullets. Excellent. I am leaning toward an adjustable gas block on the next built. However, my current rifle has never had an issue. It eats all American ammo. As my club member always says " if you pull the trigger and it goes bang 100% of the time, you don't have an issue." Again, thanks....

If you drive a car that's running rough or has bad brakes it will probably get you there but would you drive it or fix it? In this case I'd shoot it as is if if I didn't reload. Always better to be slightly iver gassed vs. under. In my world I must adapt so I need that wider operating spectrum. Greg
