I went out today to shoot dope at 600y and 1000y using105g Berger Hybrids and 95g TMK. At 600y the 105 needed 11.25 and the 95 needed 11.5. At 1000y the 105 needed 27.25 and the 95 needed 28.5 min of elevation. It's tough to say with 100% certainty but I think my gun just slightly holds a tighter group with the 95TMK but truth be told I could shoot a good score with either. It was almost boring on a 10" plate at 1000 and was boring at 600. Both rounds are loaded mag length(barely) in a ASC Grendel mag. I was using CFE223 in a 22" barrel.

Sounds great. What velocities were they at?

For the 105 Hybrid I'm getting 2846fps and the 95 TMK 2932fps. There is only 2 in more wind deflection with a 10mph full value at 1000y using the TMK. The biggest difference is in energy, 465ftlbs vs 388ftlbs for the 95. Both shoot really well though.

IT doesn't take much to punch a hole in paper so the energy is a moot point in most cases. TOF is critical though and that's why we shoot the 95's. Greg

31.6g for the 105H and 32.3 for the 95TMK Since I went to the 31.6 charge load I've had zero problems and I've put nearly 150 rounds through the tube with this charge. The 95TMK gets to 1000 in 1.513 and the 105 gets there 1.495 according to Shooter App.

Thanks for the data. I'll look at that. You're pushing the 105s about 75 fps faster than I have. Different barrels different speeds. My 95s are about 40 fps faster. My speeds are in 24" tube.
I'm guessing 2.314 on these. I want to run the load through Quick Load. I ran them through JBM and got on the 95 a TOF 0.001 second longer. Windage on the 105 was 5" less but drop was 4.1 great. JBM shows energy at 100 of 449 for the 95 and 525 a for the 105.

Give 105gr JLK Swampworks at try. 2775fps with 53ft altitude/ 80.5*F/ 29.94Hg I have a hold of 8.2 mils at 1000 yards and 2.0 mils in a 90*/10mph wind. Re15 powder. I've tried all the pet loads with the 95gr Sierras and cannot get over 2850fps with any of my four barrels without lots of pressure. So with the same altitude and conditions the 95gr Sierra is 8.6 mils and 2.5 mils wind. All those numbers are with a 200 yard zero.

It comes down to individual barrels and ones level of comfort. Everyone has their ideas and preferences. Of course even the nuances of neck tension can enter in to it. I've taught with mils for years and shooting static matches I rely mostly on inches for dial ups. I guess moa was pounded in me for too many decades. .lol

I shot MOA scopes for benchrest but now shoot Mils for PRS style matches. I like how the mils is on a ten scale. When you have 60 seconds to get ten rounds on two targets or more at different distances the tenths are way easier to remember in my opinion.

My world at work was oriented to straight mil dots and minute scopes. We had to have parity across the board for all our shooters. Common denominator for those guys was MOA. Not that I can't use mil mil..(VBG) One is best with what they use the most. Different sand boxes mean different toys. Greg
