New to the .243 lbc....Bought 100 Lapua cases, loaded up a couple loads for function and break in...even with different loads, shot incredibly....but when measuring the base to shoulder, using a Hornady .350 comparator insert, I noticed the new cases measure 1.200. The fired cases were close to 1.218-1.219. Resizing the body and setting the shoulder back with a Lee precision die in 6.5 grendel , the cases measure 2.06, but do chamber and bolt locks up.Rifle is VLTOR upper, 6.5 bolt with .125 depth bolt head, Columbia River Arms 24" bull barrel. Case stretch seems excessive to me? What are you guy's getting for base to shoulder/datum line for measurement before resizing? Sorry for the long post, and thanks for any help or advice...rsbhunter

(Using a .350 insert) That may seem a tad excessive but on the plus side you are picking up case volume. On a first firing you can handle that much stretch. The key is to NOT size back more than 0.003 or 0.004 from FIRED. Factory ammo routinely will come in 0.007-0.008 BELOW SAAMI minimum and if you team that with a SAAMI MAX chamber you will see this. If you continue sizing back to 2.006 you will see early case separation and that is no bueno. These are wildcat chambers and tolerance stacking can make a huge difference in how things expand. The goal is to make the case fit for the first firing and then adjust the dies to cause enough bump to chamber but not enough to over-work the brass. Greg

Thanks for the quick reply, I'm not worried yet, I need to do more checking b4 getting ahead of myself. I am REALLY impressed with this barrel, in fact, I will be buying another one in a little lighter contour for coyote hunting. Thanks again for the help....rsbhunter
