With the idea of a 6.8 build I started thinking about stocks. Looking at a Magpul PRS have magpuls CTR and a MOE (imaging that seemed fitting) on my 5.56's. Any other good ones out there that folks like? Think I want to go with a fixed stock for this one but still have the adjustments. Seem to be limiting myself I guess. Thanks, Moe

The UBR is one of the strongest adjustable stocks out there. Have you looked into the SOPMOD? You could also use a VLTOR A1 ARMS with a carbine buffer extension and it can use the adjustments as well.

"Mako GL shock" on my current AR doesn't do a whole lot with 5.56, pretty mild anyway, but on a 6.8 I imagine it would help recoil a little more. I got it with a .458 upper in mind just haven't got that far yet. And speaking of that could BHW build a .458socom barrel? Just curious.

I haven't handled on yet, but I love the idea of the PRS on a precision rifle, not a carry gun...seems kinda bi and ungainly for carrying around much...maybe i'm off base here, I really like the quality and price of the Magpul stocks, the Vltor are nice as well.

The PRS is a very well made unit but you are right it is not designed for a carry gun, it is extremely heavy. That being said it is really nice for bench or stationary shooting. I am a really big fan of the Ace Socom series of stocks. I have 2 of the longer lengths & if I was to have to choose the Ace or the PRS I would definitely go for the Ace. You can get almost the same length of pull & it is allot lighter..

Command Arms Sniper stock would be a good choice.

I had an Magpul UBR stock on my M4. It was mighty strong but at the price of added weight. The UBR is not a light carbine stock at all.
I changed my UBR for a Rock River Arms Operator A2...Lighter than the UBR, but not adjustable. All this being said, the RRA Operator stock doesn't feel as natural on the sholder as the traditional A2 stock and is still heavier than the traditional A2.
I think few designs will be able to bit the A2....and quite honestly: "if it isn't broken...."
Just my opinion

I'm having a hard time deciding between either an a1/a2 or the magpul PRS...
Good news I guess is I have a standard m4 style stock that I dont need anymore lol.

If you plan to carry I say a1/a2. If it's bench or tower blinds like we have in south Texas then PRS.

I like the RRA Operator stocks. They make an A2 and an adjustable. I have both.

+2 on the Ace Stocks. They are super light, rock solid and even look super cool.
I also have the mag pul open stock and RRA A2 Operator Entry Stock.

All I use are LMT's SOPMOD stocks and B5 Systems are making the exact mil-spec sopmod version for around $90-$100 retail...This is a steal, since LMT retails for $200+ sometimes...
