It is a Plain Jane but it shoots great. I'm just breaking it in but the results have been great. I'll start working up optimum loads for the 18" barrel. The Shrewd Muzzle Brake is very kind to the shooter but a little rough on the spectators. It is the softest shooting rifle I've shot in years. Thanks for the deal on that barrel. I tell everyone where I got it. They are intrigued with the polygonal rifling. I'm happy to say my brother in law is "tongue hanging out envious". The next stop will be the 800 yd range at the local gun club. Now if only I could figure out how to make it fit in that computer. ;D   |

I took it out Sunday to the 100 yd range. It was raining but my Son-in-law had purchased a Mosin Sat. at the gun show and wanted to shoot it. Whats a little rain? I had purchased 168gr BTHP ammo at the show from Georgia Arms so I could finish the break-in. I dialed it in and started taking the center out of the target. Several of the guys who frequent this range came over to watch. I offered to let them shoot it. They loved it. They wanted to know where I got it. I told them about the deal at BHW and gave them the site. They said this would be this winters project rifle for them. I have ordered a WOTAC4x14x50 to put on top. I think I can make some small enough holes to brag about with that combo. I can't say enough about how much I like the barrel and the feel of this rifle. I'm going to build a .243 upper to go with it and it will have a BHW barrel on it

Very nice system. I want to build two this winter one in 308 like yours there an the other in 264 but the tricky part with the 264 I want an improved case so I need to find a reamer and see if the BHW can chamber that one too. The BHW and the PL.rifling seems the way to go these days.

I understand that www.pacifictoolandgauge.com will build custom reamers with the correct specifications to follow. I don't know how dear they would make it. Good luck with your project. |

hey thanks for the link. That is one of the good reamer makers out there.
I had the dimensions almost complete. I will see if I can find a reamer for the one that I found that is very similar.

Got new glass for this build. Wonder Optics WOTAC 4.5x14x44 FFP Looks great, looking across the back field. Hope it shoots well. Matt Wonder said he has been shooting the prototype on a 50 cal for while and the scope is rock solid. This is the latest and greatest in their line-up. I might add they are great folks to deal with. Going to try some long range shooting with it.   |

But, like all negative press they spread like wildfire on just a few instances whereas it takes exponentially more good press to make people into believers. Good luck with it. |
