I know every state is different but I would like to hear how many deer you are family members take a year, and how many does it take your family to have meat till next years season

We only get a tag by drawing in Utah. DWR is more interested in Elk and Money.

My wife and I use about 2 large deer a year. In Illinois we can get unlimited archery permits and the firearm permits are by lottery by county. I just took a nice 8 pointer last weekend with the muzzle loader. I still have several seasons to go and permits in my pocket. We are limited to 2 antlered deer per year. It's a shame we can't use centerfire rifles for our deer hunts. Dave

We usually end up with 2 or 3 deer each year. Some goes to deer sausage, the backstraps and tenderloins go to steaks, and the rest is ground into burger.

2 to 3 usually do it for us. Last few years if I have an extra tag that I've filled and don't need, I will skin and debone and donate the meat to our sportsman against hunger program.

Bag limits can vary by county. But where we hunt we can generally take 5 deer with no more than 2 being bucks.
We usually can get by with a harvest of 2 deer for our immediate family. But every couple of years we'll take a 3rd & give the meat for Christmas presents to some non hunting family members or donate it through "Hunters for the Hungry" program.
