In the process of putting together a 308 with BHWs barrel/upper and BCG. Any suggestions for a gas block. Any particular gas blocks I should avoid? The guy helping me with assembly said that the way some blocks are drilled affects compatibility.
Also, do the BHW barrels have the indents for the gasblock set screws or do I need to get a clamp-style?
Looking for a low profile style that will be under the handguard.
Appreciate any comments...

I am big fan of the Sadlak ind. low profile gas block , that can be purchased at Brownells at a good price, I also carry them in stock. I have used them with many BHW barrels

The low profile PRI's are pretty nice to, & they are usually fairly inexpensive....

Yankee Hill has a clamp on and set screw low profile type both from midwayusa. I have both styles easy to install.

Second the YHM gas blocks. Have a flip up clamp on style on one gun. Little loctite and time when installed lined right up and has never come loose. Buddy has a low profile with the same results.

My Vltor set screw gas block came in today. It looks great but I don't have the barrel to install it on just yet...

I would recommend the VLTOR clamp style low profile gas block.

Whatever block I recommend clamp style probably with Allen screws. Vltor makes some nice ones. Do not pin anything sharp against the barrel.

The set screws are not sharpened to a point. The MK12 clone I am building is built for the military specifically with a set screw gas block and not a clamp on design.... But then again the MK12 is build for precision and reliability since its used to save your life and fellow soldiers.
