I've heard a fair amount of discussion on bedding the AR barrels with red loctite.wondering if anyone here has done or does this on a regular basis.

Funny you should ask, I just got back from the auto parts store getting blue loctite to bed Dr69er's 22" 6.5 PCC barrel. I would not want to use red, it is permanent, it may still come apart with heat, but I am starting with blue.
I have not used it on my other builds, but I have read about how it helps accuracy.
I will be using it from now on, and will go back and bed my other BHW uppers, as time permits, which should be a good test to see if it makes a difference, since I already know how they shoot without bedding.

Honestly, bedding, i've never done with an AR upper. All have shot just as well as a free floated bolt action with pillar bedding etc. One thing though to keep in mind is the squareness of the upper receiver. If it's not squared to the barrel extension, you could have issues. For what it's worth though, I only buy from top brands for my uppers. So I'm not too terribly concerned.... as Wolverine has mentioned, it's already a good barrel and platform for accuracy, so hard to really think it could "hurt" the performance anyway. Good luck. And start with blue!

I have bedded a few bolt action rifles. Could you be a little more informative on the bedding on an AR? Thanks Don.

the stated way to bed the AR rifles is to coat the barrel extension and inside of the receiver with locktite prior to fitting them together. Obviously this is a snug fit to begin with, so you don't need much.

Hey Wolverine, one thing you could consider is Vibertite. its a product like loctite with one difference that is its removable and reuseable. Comes in different strength's just like Loctite. I was able to buy a propack at Fastenal for $33.00.
