Received my 6x45 that I ordered while BHW was offering the SHOT show discount. Nice piece of work but it's a 1:10. Based on forum threads going back to last fall I thought they had switched over to 1:9, but I guess not.
Due to problems with the 6x45 page on the online store at the time (listed only a .223 in 20" LTR) I ordered over the phone. Was never asked about the twist, so I assumed that 1:9 was the only flavor, as there was no other option offered on the online store.
Probably not an issue (hope not) but BHW should let customers know that they have an option, at least until the 1:10s are gone.

Oh Master Yoda,
Please imbue me with the Force (or at least a little knowledge!) I figured that the 1:9 would be a bit more versatile, as there would be no question that it would handle the longer 85s, 90s, etc. If the 1:10 can handle those I'll keep it.

We sold only the 1x10's for years without issue. We switched to the 1x9's for the 6x45 to give the broadest possible range of bullet weights for that cartridge. We are happy to switch the barrel out for you.

I've shot standard rifled 6X45's for over two decades with 1:10 barrels. They have all shot the 87's very well and are my go to bullet for long range work. Additionally they handle they varmint weight bullets extremely well also.
I think if you keep the 1:10 you will be happy with the results. I can also say, from experience, that velocities on the BHW barrels have been consistently HIGHER than published data given a recommended bullet/powder combo from a similar length barrel.
