Just about ready to go on our annual pd hunt. Lately we have found a decent place in Nebraska to hunt. Our usual spots in SD have been pretty poor lately. When we pass thru SD on our way out we'll stop by and check how they are this year. Bringing the 17HMR,.243, and the 20 Tactical and lots of ammo. My partner is bringing a 22-250,204 and a 17HMR for the close range stuff. Hoping next year to bring a BHW in 243LBC! ;D

I was just on a PD hunt in sw Kansas, and se Colorado. I could give you the info if you want it, the guy there was great, and we had the option to shoot a 50 cal Barrett at 1000 yards with tracers, I was fortunate to hit the 2 foot square gong with a tracer and it was pretty awesome! The prairie dogs were very plentiful and we had a blast. Good luck on future pd hunts, and like you I am hoping by my next hunt I will have my new rifle ready, .264 lbc.....Shoot safe!

Came back from our annual PD hunt to north central SD near Mobridge. Plenty of dogs there. We were told that many of the ranches in eastern and southern SD have lost most of their dogs due to a severe amount of the plague running thru the towns.
I shot over 1100 rounds (5.56 and 264LBC) in 3 days of shooting. The LBC is a 24" bull barrel BHW mounted to one of their LH, railed upper receivers. My longest, confirmed kills were 786 yards. Two dogs on the same mound in only 4 shots...2 on each dog with the 264LBC. The barrel is awesome and a true tack driver. My buddy shoots a 6.5 Grendel and he loves my barrel set up better. Unfortunately, he had a bolt failure on the last day due to a broken lug.

Very easy to go through the rounds, in two days I shot 575 of my 204 ruger, and prob 20 of my 300 win mag, and about 250 of my 22 long. we had a ton of fun, defiantly a thing to do for those who like to shoot!

You guys are making me jealous!! I went opening day here in Arizona. I fired 142 rounds, killed about 95-100 dogs. The Black Hole 223 worked well and I whacked a Godzilla dog at 250 with it. It does a number on the PD's. I believe my longest shot was 365 yards or so but that is about as far as you can see them up there. I made two strings of 8 dogs in a row out to 300 with a CZ 204 that really hammers them. The 20 Tactical took its' share also. Greg

For those that love to bust caps, this sport is the most fun and challenging. Shifting winds, bright sun or total overcast. My two long shots came at the end of a very, very windy day when the wind went dead calm for about 35 minutes. Of course, it was time to re-remember the normal long range zero and which MilDot to use. Tons of fun. In our hunting area of SD you can see for miles.
