So is the 25x45 die a hint ? ? No. The die is for the upper Ritch just sent me. My idea will be something different that no one else has built. Greg

It's hard in the wildcat world to come up with a new "Mouse trap" with currently existing cartridges. Lately most wild cats are just smoke and mirrors. A dog and pony show of a wildcat that has already been done or the slightest change from another version and in the end it changes nothing. Some are just more readily available to the masses than others.

The nice thing about BHW is you can order one and know it has been tested extensively. Greg

Nothing to explain. Most wildcats you see now days are just a reintroduction of wildcats past done. Like the 6.5-.284 and the 25-.284. Some of us were shooting those in the mid 80's. The Grendel case was wildcated within weeks of its introduction from .22 - .375. The 6.8 SPC was tossed around but still in reality it is restricted due to the cases length on a AR platform. I find the 6x6.8 attractive with bullet weights up to 90gr or so. It's one of those cases where speed makes up for mass until a certain point. BHW has done a exellent job providing these wildcats with their equipment/ services in a timely manner at a price that many can justify. Some of us have been running a variety of AR's chamberings for some time in different wildcats at a much greater cost due to the cost of a custom blank and then the cost of contouring , chambering and extension fitting. Still when it comes to a hotrod 6mm or 6.5 on a AR, the 6mm or 6.5 BRX is ahead of the pack. The way I see it is you still need to "Fire form" most cases to your chamber for a true accuracy stand point. Even simple wildcats such as the 6x45 shoot a little better after that case is fire form to ones particular chamber. So fire forming cases is just a reality with any wildcat.
In the end it's all Persenal preference, performance being final.

Any thoughts on the Redding Titanium Nitride bushings? They're quite a bit more expensive than the stainless bushings, but it seems like a good idea...

Some guys like to use the button when the brass is a bit inconsistent on thickness. That will work. HINT HINT!! Call Redding and tell them you need a 6 MM expander button and the decapping rod retainer button for your 6.8 Type S Dies. They will 99/100 send them to you FREE!! Greg FYI - I requested the 6mm decapping assembly from Redding last week via their web contact form. They did not send it free - paid $23.60 - but had it delivered in less than a week. Would be interested to know if anyone else has gotten it free recently by calling.

Well that was 3 years ago.. I don't use in die decapping assemblies anymore. I decap with a Lee die and then put them in Ss media.

Greg Yeah, I saw the post was from a while back, so wanted to give an update and check to see if others had similar experiences recently. Incidentally, I also made the switch to the SS media about a year ago. It really cleans the brass up nicely compared to traditional media. Using about 1/4-1/2 tsp of dish soap and a dash-1/8 tsp of Lemi-shine in the water, it makes it shine like new! I also have the Lee universal decapper die mounted on an el-cheapo ($25) Lee press that is dedicated for depriming. For the Redding decapper, I was mainly after the 6mm expander for consistent re-sizing of the 6.8 brass.
