Hi new here, just recently stumbled upon the 243 lbc and decided I have to build one. That being said I haven't found a Bunch of info out there. I would like to put together a coyote / deer rifle. I'm thinking 20"-24" standard bhw barrel but can't decide on length and would like the shortest option possible as to be able to run it suppressed.

You can go as short as you like, but for practical purposes I would stay 20" or longer. That being said I'm doing some testing with a 16" with a 1 in 8 twist. So far the results are looking very favorable. Accuracy is great but the loss of velocity is up there because of the short barrel.

Ok so I see I can get a barrel from bhw but not seeing any bolt options. I looked for type 1 bolts and see there are 7.62x39 and grendel type 1 offerings both with the .0125 . That would mainly be from Arp bolts but now I'm confused as to Witch one I would need. Thanks

Both have a .125 deep bolt face. I would skip on the ARP bolt and buy a Young Mfg. enhanced bolt. The Young has more mass across the bolt face, and is made from the same material, 9310. I have both. Guess which one I use on my high pressure loads?

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Sorry for all the questions, wasn't much into the grendel until I found out about the 243 lbc. I can't seem to find the young mfg bolt I only see 223. I really like the ones they have as I was planning on a side charger for the build.any other options out there, the arp isn't even in stock either.

I know he was working on some extractors.

Ok will do. I'm assuming you run ritchsprecision?. If so what's the realistic time line if I order a barrel from you. Also what bolts do you use in your uppers. Thanks again

Thanks again A barrel order will take the same amount of lead time from Black Hole or me. Right now your looking at 10 weeks. I only use bolts made from 9310. The configuration ( enhanced, hard use, etc. ) is based on the customers needs.

I talked to Debbie at Young today and she said they were starting bolt production in January sometime.

This might be sort of a dumb question, but what are the dimensions of the standard profile bhw barrels?.

This might be sort of a dumb question, but what are the dimensions of the standard profile bhw barrels?. .850 behind the gas block. .740 in front of the gas block.

I'm thinking about running a adjustable gas block on my build. I would like a clamp on style and still be able to run it under a slim handguard anyone done this yet?. Afraid of clearance issues before I buy a handguard.
