It won't even take 1/4 turn. But the best way to set it up is to use shoulder bump gauges, Hornday makes a set. Or you can use a piece of 9mm brass, slipped over the neck of the case. Measure a few fired cases, and set your die up to bump 3 or 4 thousandths.

The bushing has absolute minnum float and the die is against the shell holder pretty hard the shoulder is not being bumped as for grinding the shell holder its a Forster press. I checked several resized cases and they chambered fine not unless it's a big deal I'm gonna load them up and go with it can't wait to see how this thing shoots! I too have a Forester press. Would I be better served getting 6 ppc sizing die to ensure I do not bottom out the die before proper necking/bumping the shoulder back?
As for bullet seating, I would like to use a seater with a comparator on top. If I used a 6ppc seater, do I need to be careful not to take the handle all the way down? The seater would hit the shoulder before it hits the bottom of the shell holder correct, as the 6ppc is a shorter round?

As for bullet seating, I would like a precision type seater with a comparator on top. What seater with a comparator would be recommended? I would only use a 6PPC die if I could not find a Grendel die. The PPC will not size all the way down through the base like you want to so. For a seater grab a 6MM Hornady generic seater and add the micrometer top. That's the cheapest way to get there. No one makes a true high speed aka Redding micrometer topped seater. Comparators are for comparison of XXX to YYY. Do yourself a favor and buy the Sinclair tool for measuring distance to lands. Then review my thread on Comparators for the Poor Man here on the Forum and save yourself the money for the Hornady rig. Greg

Greg,
Can you send me some load data for the 243 LBC? I've got an array of powders. I have 8208, 4895, RL15, and so on. bullets are 95gr from Berger to Sierrea

No. You want a 7.62X39 bolt. JoeBob sells those too. You want a TYPE I bolt. The Grendel is TYPE II. It has a 134 bolt depth. The 7.63 is 125. Using a Grendel bolt will cause excessive headspace. Greg

So Greg,
If I'm reading the previous post correctly, the 243LBC is chambered in Type I depth?

Having small problem. Bolt is not locking to the rear on empty mag. Using ASC mags. Will not lock back on any of them while shooting, will lock back every time if I pull back the charging handle on an empty mag. Any suggestions.
Thank you,
J

Do you have an adjustable block? Greg

You can't get more gas than you currently are by switching to an adjustable GB, are you using a really fast powder? I'd try different powders then contemplate drilling the gas port larger if nothing else worked.
